When it comes to inequalities involving ABSOLUTE VALUE, there are 2 things you need to know:
Rule #1: If |something| < k, then –k < something < k
Rule #2: If |something| > k, then EITHER something > k OR something < -k
Note: these rules assume that k is positive
Given: |m| < 5
So, applying Rule #1, we know that -5 < m < 5
Since we're told that set X consists of INTEGERS, we know that set X = {-4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4}
Range = max value - min value
= 4 - (-4)
= 8
Answer: B

Solution:
|m| < 5
-5<m<5
As Set X consists of all integer values, m has to be values from -4 to 4 including.
Thus, the range of set X= 4-(-4)=8
