The issue states that teacher's salaries should be based on their student's academic performance. I disagree with this claim and I would like to provide two reasons for my positioning in this issue.
First of all, There are different kinds of students. Some students focus on their studies and want to improve their academic performance by listening to their teachers, resolving their doubts, and then performing well during the exams. While, some students seldom study or do not study at all. They spend their time gossiping during the classes or play games at home. It does not matter what kind of teacher they learn from if they do not want to learn at all. Some brilliant teachers who want their students to do well in the exams will explain all the concepts clearly and also resolve their doubts. However, if a student is not interested in his studies then it is not the teacher's fault for the student's bad academic performance. The teacher's salary should not be proportional to their students academic performance for the above reason.
Furthermore, If teacher's salaries are based on how students will perform in the exams then teachers will only focus on marks rather than explaining the concepts well. The teachers will only explain those concepts or questions which are more likely to be asked in the exam. In this way, the students will never understand the concepts or ideas fully. The students will be happy and satisfied based on their academic performance but they will suffer in the future when they have to apply those ideas or concepts in real life applications and will fail to do so because of lack of understanding as they never tried to understand the topics but focused only on getting good marks in their exams.
However, I agree that some teachers do not work hard enough to explain their students and those teachers just teach for the paycheck. In such cases, the students would not understand the concepts clearly because of their teacher's negligence. Nevertheless, the solution for this issue is not changing the teacher's salaries based on the performances of their students. The students have to raise objections with the principal or other teachers about the lack of attention giving by a teacher or the teacher's inability to explain the concepts. By doing this the inept teacher will be replaced with an expert teacher and this will help the students a lot and consequently improve their academic performance.
In conclusion, The above two reasons explains clearly that teacher's salaries should not be based on their student's performances.
