You can pick numers or work conceptually

I am disappointed when the students of this board do not see what we do have or what I write with so many efforts

Here all is explained https://gre.myprepclub.com/forum/gre-math- ... 25236.html

x^3+2 is two units apart from X

x instead is the distance of x from the origin

We do not know the exact position on the number line of x^3+2

could be x^3+2 or -2 +x^3

Turns out, X also variates in its distance from the origin

So the answer is D

PLEASE: add the 4 answer usual choices. You always forget. Moreover, the source is MGRE or Others ?? which one ?

Thanks for your answer.

I read what you write in the forum and the explanation but sometimes I can't relate the concept with the questions.

It seems that I am doing something wrong because I am making sure that I am including the choices and the right answer. Sorry for that.

Look Sir

Unfortunately, this is an inconvenient truth

IF a student is not able to apply the abstract or theoretic concept in reality, to the problem AND at the same time have the flexibility to apply those concepts in a variety of ways....then is better NOt to study at all.

Do not get me wrong, please.

The GRE, the GMAT are tests of logic and they repeat themselves. Over and over again

Being able to learn a concept and apply it to different problems but that at the core test the same rule, over and over again is crucial. This the test is all about

Moreover, IF you learn the concept no matter what kind of problem you must solve -- you will be able to solve

On the other hand, picking numbers NOT always is a fast, reliable, and efficient way to solve
