Hello all,
Any resources available on how GRE scores are evaluated by admission committees for MBA applications to US Business Schools? While an increasing number of US schools are now reporting their GRE averages and medians, I would appreciate if someone is able to share greater insight as to how the process actually works. Do admission committees use the GRE to GMAT online convertor and compare the converted GRE score against GMAT scores? Or do they view them as independent GRE scores itself? Furthermore, is the process uniform across US Schools or do they differ from school to school?
I know it's not a straightforward one to answer, but would be good to get the discussion going and get thoughts on this matter

Hey,
I think it differs from school to school.
Some schools tell explicitly that they do not differentiate among scores. And they consider GRE scores accordingly.
While in some schools, they convert GRE scores to GMAT scores. Carlson is one such example.
You should not worry about the evaluation process and send the best scores to schools. And if the doubt remains on the conversion of scores, you can always ask the Adcom about it. They will surely respond.

When a business school says they will accept either test then they have no preference for one over the other. The admissions team will convert the scores so that they are making an apples-to-apples comparison across all candidates.
I usually suggest you take one free practice test of each exam at the very beginning of your preparation and assess whether your baseline score is higher on the GMAT or GRE. Based on this, you would want to take the exam that you found easier.
