Profile Evaluation/Universities Suggestion

Hey everyone! I have a GRE score of 316 (Q161 V155 AWA 4.0) and IELTS 7.5 overall. I have 4 years of work experience in a biotech company in sales and am currently looking to apply for MS in biomedical engineering in the USA. Graduated from GITAM University with BTech in Biotechnology (CGPA 6.55 and 7 backlog repetitions due to health issues in the first year).
Could anyone suggest some good universities suited to my profile? I am looking at ASU, Carnegie Mellon, Umich, Ann arbor, and NYU. I know these are top unis and I have backlogs, but is there any way I could supplement these with a strong SOP and LOR's? If no, please suggest some alternatives

The colleges you are targeting are definitely the top ones. From your post, it seems that your backlogs are backed by a valid reason. Plus you have relevant work experience as well. You can surely mention all these things in your additional essays that the reason was health problems. Make sure that you explain clearly about these.
Also, when are you planning to apply? For this fall or Fall'23. If later, then you have ample time to pursue your hobbies, do extracurricular activities. These things will surely provide you with an edge.

Hi NikhilSatya I agree with the thoughts mentioned here. In addition to your internships, pursuing community work an hobbies that are aligned with your long-term goals and can have a significant impact on your community will be a plus. You might also want to consider a retake to boost your score considering the competitiveness of the schools you are targeting. All the best!
