By definition, 1 percent = \(\frac{1 }{ 100}\).
Also, the fractional equivalent of 0.75 = \(\frac{3 }{ 4}\)
Increase in the price of the stock = 0.75 OF 1 percent.
The word OF always represents multiplication. Therefore, 0.75 OF 1 percent = 0.75 * 1 percent.
Substituting the values, 0.75 * 1 percent = \(\frac{3 }{ 4}\) * \(\frac{1 }{ 100}\) = \(\frac{3 }{ 400}\).
Therefore, increase in the price of the stock = \(\frac{3 }{ 400}\).
The correct answer option is D.
