Plug in points in the appropriate quadrants. If (a, b) = (1, 2) and (c, d) = (−3, −4), then the point in question is (−bd, bc) = [−(2)(−4), (2)(−3)] = (8, −6), which is in quadrant IV. Since “it cannot be determined from the information given” is an answer choice, plug in again to confirm that the result will be in quadrant IV. The correct answer is choice (D).
