The ratio of the length of a side of a square to the length of its diagonal (labeled x in this diagram) is \(1: \sqrt{2}\) because the diagonal divides the square into two right isosceles (4 5 - 4 5 - 9 0 ) triangles. You can find the length of a side of the square by dividing x by \(\sqrt{2}\) which is 1.4 or 7/5
