I use choosing number strategy for solving this question. I choose 72 as the total number of mice.
So, 1/ 2 of White mice = 72 / 8 = 9
Total white mice = 18
and, 1/3 of Gray mice = 72 / 9 = 8
Total gray mice = 24
White mice : gray mice = 18 : 24 = 3:4 (Answer choice C)
So, 1/ 2 of White mice = 72 / 8 = 9
Total white mice = 18
and, 1/3 of Gray mice = 72 / 9 = 8
Total gray mice = 24
White mice : gray mice = 18 : 24 = 3:4 (Answer choice C)
