Need to find a weakener that the natural environment has become more inhospitable.

A- Better warning systems strengthens the argument.
B- Again gives another reason that strengthens the argument.
C- So? Records of disasters has no bearing on the argument.
D- Correct. If more people are living in areas prone to natural disaster, that accounts for the higher accidents and takes away the onus from the argument that the environment has become more inhospitable.
E- If people's habits, to change the land, haven't changed and accidents have increased, we can only say land is unstable, which means this is a strengthener and hence incorrect.

Why is D correct? If more people are living near areas prone to natural disasters, doesn't that support the argument that more accidents happen and that its dangerous?

We can conclude that the planet Earth as a natural environment has become more inhospitable and dangerous, and we should employ the weather and earth sciences to look for causes of this trend.

Consider that more wildfires happen in California if 100 millions of people live there it is more dangerous.

If NO ONE lives in California is no more dangerous because no person if affected.

So D tells just this

But Choice D suggest that people ARE living near these dangerous areas which SUPPORTS the conclusion that these areas are dangerous and inhospitable. How does choice D weaken the conclusion that these are dangerous and inhospitable? wouldn't we need a choice that shows that living in these areas is somehow NOT dangerous or it IS hospitable to weaken the conclusion?
