This illustrates what Brent was talking about. You can have an isosceles triangle with two equal angles, and two equal sides, and still have two top angles formed by a non-perpendicular line, which have unequal angles.

As he said, obviously the question writer wants the viewer to jump to the conclusion that the line is perpendicular, even though it might not be because they didn't mark it as such.

So, as everyone else already mentioned, we can't say that A and B are equal because they might not be. So, D.
