Re: The clockwise angle made by the hour hand and the minute han [#permalink]
I've never seen this sort of clock questions in the official guide.
A humble request to all the faculties of Greprep to put some light on these.
Thankyou.

This is a question from the ancient OG released by ETS.

However, it is still quite good for practice.

The fact that it will not appear, maybe never, during the exam does not mean it is not good to stretch your mental muscle

Quantity A is greater.
Quantity B is greater.
The two quantities are equal.
The relationship cannot be determined from the information given.

At 12:15, the minute hand is horizontal, and ...

... the hour hand creates an angle that's GREATER THAN 90 degrees.

We get:
QUANTITY A: An angle that's LESS THAN 90 degrees
QUANTITY B: An angle that's GREATER THAN 90 degrees

Answer: B

We could say that by the design of the clock, because the Hr hand moves relatively much slower, it is set in motion in advance so it could catch up. hope this makes some sense?

Ques: could we then conclude the same relationship between the minute hand and the second hand?
