Is there something missing from the question? I am not able to understand what 2x 1 3, 5x 2 4, 6x 2 6 mean.

1 = +
2 = -
I surmised. Then checked the answer.

2x + 3
5x - 4
6x - 6
3x - 1

(2x + 3) + (5x - 4) + (6x - 6) + (3x - 1)
4

(16x - 8) / 4 =

4x - 2

Ok, I understood now.

A \(2x + 4\)

B \(3x - 2\)

C \(3x + 2\)

D \(4x - 2\)

E \(4x + 2\)

Is there something missing from the question? I am not able to understand what 2x 1 3, 5x 2 4, 6x 2 6 mean.

Re: QOTD #4 What is the average (arithmetic mean) of 2x 1 3, 5x [#permalink]
Theory

    ➡ Average = Sum of all the Values / Total Number of Values

The average (arithmetic mean) of (2x + 3), (5x - 4), (6x - 6), and 3x – 1

Average = \(\frac{Sum}{4}\) = \(\frac{(2x + 3) + (5x - 4) + (6x - 6) + (3x – 1) }{4}\) = \(\frac{16x - 8}{4}\) = 4x - 2

So, Answer will be D.
Hope it helps!
