This question asks you to pick numbers, which will make the math a whole lot easier. Say 100 people were polled. Then 80%, or 80 of them were registered voters. 75% of these, or \(\frac{3}{4}\), voted in the last election, so \(\frac{1}{4}\)of them did not vote in the last election. \(\frac{1}{4}\) of 80 is 20, so 20 of the 100 people polled were registered voters who did not vote in the last election. As a fraction, 20 divided by 100 is \(\frac{1}{5}\).

In percentage question it's better to deal with some smart numbers.
Let the no of people be 100
No. of registered voters = 100*80% = 80
No of registered voters voted in the last election = 80*75% = 60
No of registered voters didn't vote in the last election = 80-60 = 20
Required Fraction = Voters didn't vote / all those surveyed
= 20 / 100
= 1/5
The best answer is B.
