The following appeared in a letter from a homeowner to a friend.
"Of the two leading real estate firms in our town — Adams Realty and Fitch Realty — Adams Realty is clearly superior. Adams has 40 real estate agents; in contrast, Fitch has 25, many of whom work only part-time. Moreover, Adams' revenue last year was twice as high as that of Fitch and included home sales that averaged $168,000, compared to Fitch's $144,000. Homes listed with Adams sell faster as well: ten years ago I listed my home with Fitch, and it took more than four months to sell; last year, when I sold another home, I listed it with Adams, and it took only one month. Thus, if you want to sell your home quickly and at a good price, you should use Adams Realty."
Write a response in which you examine the stated and/or unstated assumptions of the argument. Be sure to explain how the argument depends on these assumptions and what the implications are for the argument if the assumptions prove unwarranted.
From the argument we came to know about two companies in the town one is Adams and another one is Fitch. From the argument we noticed that a friend through a letter telling his other friend how Adams is much more superior than Fitch. From his opinion because Adams gives more money and quick selling than Fitch it’s much better than Fitch. Also, he mentioned that Adam has more employee than Fitch.
By reading this argument one can find that both companies have real estate agents but most of them are part time workers. There is much more difference in part time workers and full-time workers. Part time workers are mostly contact oriented. They do have to fulfill its companies’ demand within time limitation. That’s why they are much more vulnerable and not so trustworthy. By simply trust in them on buying and selling houses aren’t so prudent decision.
Another thing is from the letter we came to know that average sales price of Adams is higher than Fitch. But it didn’t mention its customer care. Are there customer care is good? When selling a house do the customer get the payment in exact time. Is house property paper is legal or there some problems with that. Those answers are missing from the topic.
Also, another trouble is that the letter from the friend talk about Fitch which he listed his house ten years earlier which took four months to sell. But he failed to mention what’s the situation now. Though he mentioned that Adams took only one month to sell his house but comparing two companies by only ten years earlier and now is not a good symptom of prudence.
Above all simply one person’s opinion can’t just justify a company. It will mostly be biased and lean to one company. His friend should further research to qualify which company is better Adam or Fitch as selling or buying a house is a big decision as a big amount of money is relying on this,
