Let me try helping you on this one

The above highlighted are the clue for the sentence. We can try negating options, and then reach the correct one for the second blank.
For the first blank:
We know P plagarized / copied his work from somewhere else. So we need a word similar to copied
A) omitted- Does not match
(B) lifted
(C) interpreted- Does not match
Only lifted fits.
Moving to the second blank. For me I could not necessarily relate a clue for this part to refer to, but looking at the broad picture and eliminating the other options will help.
P has copied his work from somewhere (a source maybe not so well known to laymen or it could be popular) but they are not unknown to the specialist. So this means just because they are specialists they know it and the source is thus not a popular one. Therefore, we can use something like unpopular.
(D) dated
(E) prominent- Opposite
(F) uninformative- We do not have a reference to uninformative neither it is related to unpopular
We are only left with option D- dated, which means old fashioned or obsolete.
