Re: The average (arithmetic mean) of 3x, x, and y is equal to 2x [#permalink]
Theory

    ➡ Average or Arithmetic Mean = Sum of all the Values / Total Number of Values

The average (arithmetic mean) of 3x, x, and y is equal to 2x

Arithmetic Mean = \(\frac{Sum}{3}\) = \(\frac{3x + x + y}{3}\) = \(\frac{4x + y }{ 3}\) = 2x (given)
=> 4x + y = 3*2x = 6x
=> y = 6x - 4x = 2x

Clearly, Quantity A (2x ) = Quantity B(y)

So, Answer will be C.
Hope it helps!
