E is the most suitable answer but I think if there's another answer suggests that only environment like Earth can create life, I would definitely choose that one over E. Just some of my own thoughts. Maybe I watched too much Sci-fi idk

Why not "D"?

D is alerady mentioned in the passage hence it can't be an assumption

A- Appearance is irrelevant to the argument.
B- Tricky but not an assumption. The argument states the greatest chance for the existence is outside solar system, that does not mean life CAN NOT exist inside our solar system.
C- Inevitable consequence is too definite to be an assumption.
D- Quantity of suns and earth-like planets is not the assumption. Even if we decrease/increase the number, it doesn't do anything to our argument.
E- This is correct because the passage states "planets similar enough to Earth to make them suitable abodes of life." So the assumption is planets similar to Earth can only have indication of life.
