All that is asked here is solve the given equation \(x^2 - 2x - 288 = 0\)
By simplification, \(X^2 -18x + 16x -288 = 0\)
Hence, \(x(x-18) +16(x - 18) = 0\)
Therefore, \(x = -16,18\)
However the value of x cannot be \(-\)ve since the number of pillows sold cannot be negative
Hence, \(x =18\) < Qty B
By simplification, \(X^2 -18x + 16x -288 = 0\)
Hence, \(x(x-18) +16(x - 18) = 0\)
Therefore, \(x = -16,18\)
