Perimeter of a square = perimeter of a rectangle
Let's say the side of a square \(= x\) & of rectangle \(= a\) & \(b\).
\(4x = 2(a + b)\)
\(2x = a + b\)
Now, we know that \(a > b\) (the rectangle, which is not a square) so the area of the square with the same perimeter will always be greater.
Take \(x = 4\) so \(a = 5\) & \(b = 3\) to cross check.
