The ratio of 0.4 to 5 equals which of the following ratios?
(A) 4 to 55
(B) 5 to 4
(C) 2 to 25
(D) 4 to 5
(E) 4 to 45
Ofcourse, it is a straight method \(\frac{0.4}{5}=\frac{4}{50}=[fraction]2/25/fraction]\)
But say you are for some reason confused with decimal etc, the choice should help you..
(A) 4 to 55... We cannot get a multiple of 11 in denominator
(B) 5 to 4... We cannot have numerator greater than denominator
(C) 2 to 25... possible
(D) 4 to 5... It is to straight 0.4 cannot become 4 without any changes elsewhere.
(E) 4 to 45... We cannot get a multiple of 9 in denominator
So, only possibility is C
