OFFICIAL EXPLANATION QUESTION #3

In the last paragraph, the author disagrees with Nickel's interpretation of the DNA evidence. The correct answer will be the sentence that provides Nickel's view-that's the fourth sentence of the second paragraph.

The problem with E in question 2 is the term, "contemporary." Is the question referring to similarities between ancient Chinese statuary and contemporary Greek statues (statuary completed in modern times)? Or does contemporary mean Western statues completed earlier or about the same time as the Chinese ones? At approximately the "same" ancient era or between the ancient and the here-and-now?

E is supported because the passage suggests the possibility of Western (Greek) influence or inspiration in style, though the sculptures were ultimately uniquely Chinese creations.
