There are two different scales, the X-scale and the Y-scale; they are related linearly. Measurements on the X-scale of 10 and 30 correspond to measurements on the Y-scale of 30 and 60, respectively. What measurements on the X-scale corresponds to a measurements of 90 on the Y-scale?

The answer is (C).
A range of 30 - 10 = 20 on scale X corresponds to a range of 60 - 30 = 30 on scale Y.
Since 30/20 = 1.5 --> A movement of 1 unit on X-scale corresponds to a movement of 1.5 units on the Y-scale.
Movement on Y-scale = 90 - 60 = 30 units
Therefore, movement on X-scale = 30/1.5 = 20 units
--> Measurement on X-scale = 30 + 20 = 50 units
A range of 30 - 10 = 20 on scale X corresponds to a range of 60 - 30 = 30 on scale Y.
Since 30/20 = 1.5 --> A movement of 1 unit on X-scale corresponds to a movement of 1.5 units on the Y-scale.
Movement on Y-scale = 90 - 60 = 30 units
Therefore, movement on X-scale = 30/1.5 = 20 units
