This is not a powerprep question. Unless, it comes from the PP plus online. For sure is not from the free software.

Moreover, it has a typo in the stem. It is AN individual not a individual.

Now, we do have a total of 6750 people and the 60th % contributed 50$ Which means that 40% of people contributed more than 50$ = 2700 people.

Of the total 6750 20% contributed above 100 $. So 80% of people contributed less than 100 $ = 5400 people

So we do have that 2700 > 50$ and 5400 < 100 $

So the answer should be 2700 people.

However, I am not sure because the wording is not so clear in my opinion.

Will see if our tutor could shed some light.

as per the question stem, the 95th percentile number was 125.
, i.e. 125 was greater than the 95 percent of the individual contributions.
So, the number/contribution above the 95th percentile figure MUST be above 125 , right?
Therefore, the contribution from 100-125 is a range ( i.e. 20% ) which falls below or equal ( as 125 is 95th percentile) the 95th percentile, right ?

There was a fund raising campaign conducted by a private company to construct a village library. The organization have collected the funds from 6750 people.A individual contribution of $50 was 60th percentile and 95th percentile was $125, where 20% of people contributed from $100 to $125.Find the number of people who have contributed between $50 to $100.

I'd skip this question.
TONS of issues with it.
For example: "20% of people contributed from $100 to $125" Does this INCLUDE $100 and $125? Or does it EXCLUDE $100 and $125? The response to that question will affect the correct answer.

Bigger question: What's the source of this question?

Cheers,
