Dividing into cases:
The student must attend 2 math classes out of 8 options, and the order of the classes doesn't matter. So we can use the combination formula: 8C2 = 8!/6!2! = 28
And the student must also attend 2 physics classes out of 9 options, so using the same reasoning we have: 9C2 = 9!/7!2! = 36
Using the fundamental principle of counting we have 28*36 = 1008 Choice D
