Volume of a cube with edge length as \(a\) is \(a^3\)
We know, \(a^3 ≤ 2\)
i.e. \(a ≤ 2^{\frac{1}{3}}\)
Now, we can't find cube-root using the GRE's given on-screen calculator. What do we do?
Simply multiply each option thrice - it should be less than or equal to 2
A. (1.1)(1.1)(1.1) = 1.331
B. (1.2)(1.2)(1.2) = 1.728
C. (1.3)(1.3)(1.3) = 2.197
We don't need tosolve any further as option D and E, both will be greater than 2
Hence, option A and B

Plug In the answers to your on-screen calculator. When cubed, choices (A) and (B) are less than 2 cubic feet. The other three choices for the edge of the box produce volumes over 2 cubic feet.
