Palindrome is a number which when read from left or right gives the same value, so the next palindrome number after 2992 would be 2882.
Now the distance that Tom would have to travel from the milestone showing 2992 miles to the milestone showing 2882 miles is $\((2992-2882)\)$ miles $\(=110\)$ miles
Finally at the speed of 55 miles per hour, the time that Tom would take to travel 110 miles would be $\(\frac{ Distance }{Speed }=\frac{110}{55}=2\)$ hours \((Using - Distance = Speed $\times$ Time )\)
Hence the answer is (B).
