The slope given is 2/5 or the rise over run. As horizontal distance is 100, vertical elevation can be calculated as 2/5 = h/100 which gives h = 40. Hence option B is greater than option A (35)

I don't understand how you equated 2/5=h/100
Slope of a line from origin y2-0/x2-0=2/5 that the line ends co-ordinates are in the ratio X2:y2= 5/2
We know the Horizontal projection of the line from origin to be (100,0) Equating we get, x=20 2x=40 which is the elevation.
