Since the lines intersect to the right, we know that the resulting area is a triangle, which interior angles must sum up to 180 degrees.

the adjacent angle of 2x is (180-2x), since an angle on a line is 180 degrees.
the adjacent angle of 3x is (180-3x), since an angle on a line is 180 degrees.

To find the third angle: (180-2x) + (180-3x) + Y = 180

thus Y = 180 - [(180-2x) + (180-3x)]

....

2x + 3x = 180
x = 36.

The answer should be C.

The answer (i.e. option A) is correct...try again!!

Three cases..
(1) when line m is parallel to line l.
2x+3x=180.......5x=180...x=36
(2) when line m is NOT parallel to line l and they intersect on the right side
2x+3x>180.......5x>180...x>36
(2)when line m is NOT parallel to line l but they intersect on the left side ..
2x+3x<180.......5x<180...x<36

Our case is case II, so x>36..
