The least integer is -40, then -39, and so on, until we get to 0. Then we have positive integers, 1, 2...39, 40. Each of the 40 negative integers will be canceled out by 40 positive integers, so that the sum up to 40 is 0.
The next integer is 41, making the sum of the whole list 41.
So we have 40 negative integers, canceled out by 40 positive integers. That's 80 integers in all.
Then, 41 is our 81st integers, and we can't forget 0 as our 82nd. So there are 82 integers on this list, and k = 82.
