Hi all!
11 months ago, I took the GMAT and scored a 740, with a Q50 and V40.
However, since then I have changed my plans, and am planning on pursuing a more "technical" path, mainly data science or statistics, which require the GRE instead.
Anyway, so my question is how much effort should I expect to need to put in?
Let me add a little more detail about my background as that could better put things into context.
I double majored in Finance and Applied Mathematics, and as a result the GMAT Quant was very easy for me from the get go (scored a 50 on my first practice test before studying), but the verbal required some work, mainly in sentence correction (started off with a 36 and worked my way up to a 40).
My expectation is that GRE Quant I should be at 168+ from the start (given that I hear its easier than the GMAT Quant). However, the verbal is where I am really uncertain, and would like some input on what to expect, and what I should focus on.
Looking forward to receiving any input on this!

Hi , and welcome to the board
The myth that the GRE is easier than the GMAT must be debunked. The 5 difficult questions are quite tricky.

I do not want to scare you but the reality is quite different from the legend.

Especially ALL the OGs in one spot.
Sure, you do have a strong quant score but considering also that during the exam is not a stroll. You could end up with much more a surprise. Give an official mock and see what is going on

As you expectation is that GRE Quant is 168+ from the start and you told it is easier than Gmat ? yes it is easy but only when you follow consistency for preparation. and offcouse you understand this better because as you told you secure 740 in First attempt of Gmat that is really good score. and only posible when you are dicipline . offcouse data scientist is a huge scope in future so you must have to go with GRE. i wish you a good luck with a suggestion you can check preped.This is a platform where you can get quality material in no cost i hope this will add value in your GRE prapration
