We'll use the fact that angles on a line add to 180°
So, for example: x + (w - 1) = 180°
Likewise, we can write: y + (w + 1) = 180°
Since both equations are set equal to 180°, we can conclude that: x + (w - 1) = y + (w + 1)
Remove brackets to get: x + w - 1 = y + w + 1
Subtract w from both sides to get: x - 1 = y + 1
Add 1 to both sides to get: x = y + 2
Now take the two quantities and replace x with y + 2
We get:
Quantity A: y + 2
Quantity B: y
At this point, we can see that y + 2 is GREATER THAN y
Answer: A

I think it faster just to use numbers here, make w = 90 we get w-1 = 89 and w+1 = 91 meaning x = 180-91 > 180-91 (don't need to actually calculate anything, we just subtract a bigger number from y making it smaller
