Explanation

The earlier “evasions and equivocations” are ways to avoid a question or “flip-flop” on an issue.

This “latest statement” is “unlike” the evasions and equivocations because it is an explicit, clear, or obvious lie. Bald and overt are the only matches. Note the trap answers tacit and implicit, which are synonyms that mean the exact opposite (“hinted at, unspoken”) of what you need.

The best options are bald, overt.

Tacit is not correct as The Politician is stating a false statement while tacit is implied without use of any words or speech.

SO Bald & Overt

A.bald=plain or blunt
B.tacit=understood or implied without being stated
C.overt=done or shown openly; plainly apparent
D.didactic=intended to teach, particularly in having moral instruction as an ulterior motive;in the manner of a teacher, particularly so as to appear patronizing
E.rhetorical=the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing, especially the exploitation of figures of speech and other compositional techniques
F.implicit=suggested though not directly expressed,always to be found in; essentially connected with
So,Answer would be (A,C)
