Tricky but you need to grasp the real meaning.

I did notice that a lot of students rely on the strategy of opposite words or balance approached: if X is negative then Y must positive.

only innovative is matching the blank, firstly there is a shift "although" ... implying contrast innovative-passive, i.e. not innovative, and further the meaning is antogonized with the future passively completed ...
