While they may not be publishing in equal numbers to their male peers, African women writers are occupying a more central role in the publishing landscape than previously. I do not mean to suggest that gender gaps have been (i) _______; they persist. Nor do I mean to suggest that all women have equal access to publishing; certainly class and education differences among women (ii) _______ affect the ability to write and publish. Even so, the trend is (iii) _______: more women writers are publishing, and their work is reaching new audiences at home and abroad.

Blank (i) Blank (ii) Blank (iii)
eradicated adversely sweeping
widened deeply topsy-turvy
staggered curiously upward

Kudos for the right answer and explanation

why the third blank is not SWEEPING , i fill it with sweeping ( wide in range )coz they mentioned that ""their work is reaching new audiences at home and abroad.""

But, the idea in the last sentence is opposite to the one presented by the preceding sentence. The second-last sentence says there are factors that affects women's ability to publish. However, the trend is in UPWARD direction.

Sweeping won't contradict that idea.
