This passage is saying that Tiffany has received lots of money, but she knows it will never help her stop missing her parents. "Masticate" means "chew?' This obviously makes no sense in the context of the question. "Interpolate" means "include." It doesn't make any sense that Tiffany would want to "include" sorrow in her money. "Alleviate" means "ease:' The line "she would rather have had her parents back" shows that money cannot ease Tiffany's pain. For the second blank, the passage is saying that Tiffany doesn't appreciate the comments that her friends are making. "Lionize" means "idolize:' If Tiffany does not like the comments that her friends are making then she would not be idolizing them. "Oblige" means "accommodate?' Again, if Tiffany doesn't appreciate her friends' comments then she would not try to accommodate them. "Begrudge" means "resent." If Tiffany didn't appreciate the advice her friends are giving her, then she would "resent" the comments.
