Albert was driving on a straight highway, from Edenborough to Megiddo, at 60 mph. Beatrice was driving faster than Albert, on the same highway, in the same direction. She started behind Albert. She passed Albert at 1:20 pm. At 3:20 pm, Beatrice arrived at Megiddo, and Albert arrived 50 minutes later, at 4:10 pm. Assume both drivers kept up constant speeds without stops. What was Beatrice's speed, in mph?

85mph. The way I see it, it does not matter that the road is straight or what happened before 1:20pm. The pair starts at that moment and it takes Albert 2 and 5/6 hours to go the distance at 60mph, meaning the distance is 170miles. Beatrice went 170miles in 2 hours so she was going 85mph

A= 60 mph and B>A
B passes A at 1:20 pm and reaches the destination at 3:20 pm i.e. after 2 hours
A reaches the destination 50 min after B. Thus, It takes 2 hours and 50 min for
A to reach the destination. Therefore, the distance covered by A in 170 min is, d= 60* 170/60= 170 miles.
This 170 miles is covered by B in 2 hours. Thus, the speed of B is, 170/2=85 mph (answer)
B passes A at 1:20 pm and reaches the destination at 3:20 pm i.e. after 2 hours
