When the cylinder is cut open, we will get a rectangle with height = breadth = 14 and circumference of base = length = 20 (as shown in the figure below)
Join AC;
\(AC^2 = AD^2 + DC^2\)
\(AC = \sqrt{14^2 + 10^2} = \sqrt{296}\)
\(AC = 17.2\)
