question details? i gave every thing that is present about the question , question and the answer. its a private institute gre test prep book where questions and their answers are shared nothing else.

Answer 50 is correct.Consider this case:
When no. of combinations when both inexperienced are not together=Total no. of combinations-no. of combinations when both inexperienced are together=8C3-6C1(as two members are inexperienced engineers and we have to select only one member from all experienced engineers(6))=56-6=50.

you need to choose 3 engineers from 8 engineers so 8C3
Out of three engineers 2 are inexperienced so you need to arrange them 3P2
finally you need to exclude 2 inexperienced engineers so 8C3-3P2=50
