I am not sure of the relationship you are sorting out between a feature in the GRE calculator and the fact that this question is legit or not..............

So is there any systematic way of computing the cube root of a number?Please share!!! For example how does GRE officials expect a student to evaluate the cube root of 166.375 without a calculator?

Ok. Let be clear..........A real GRE question will not ask you to find the exact value of the cube root because it depends on the question it could be perfect or not.

Usually when is not the answer choices are far apart to take an estimation of the correct answer

for example cube root of 77

Now 3^3 is 27 and 5^5 is 125 so the cube root of 77 must be 3 and 5 \(\approx\) 4 and something

So at the end i got a range like the answer must be between 5 and 6 is it enough? or will answer choices contain the range of values between 5 and 6 or there will be options like 3.somthing,9.something and 5.something and i gotta choose c!
