Suzie has $300 more than eric has. if suzie were to give eric 10% of her money than eric wold have 2/3 of the amount suzie would then have. How much money does eric currently have (before exchanging the money)?

Saw this on a Manhattan Prep blog and cannot find the answer anywhere!

Let S be amount Suzie has, and E amount Eric has
from first sentence, S= E + 300

from second sentence (2/3)(0.9S) = E + 0.1xS

replacing S by E+300 in the second equation, you get E=300

There could be efficient way to do it. This is my take on for now.
300+0.10S = (1)S/1.66
500 + 0.1666S = (1)S
500 = (1)S - 0.1666S
500 = 0.83334S
S = 600
So,
Eric has 600 - 300 = 300
