Wow, I thought I had the worst GRE experiences. The first time they sat me under a fluorescent light that was failing. On, off, strobe, on, off, strobe. They refused to move me. Second time (after scores expired), I had a major cold and was denied even one kleenex. I had to jump out of the room to blow my nose, which was often. This was in the previous grading (200-800 scale) and I did very well; I'm told it would translate to 169Q and 169V.
First thing I did, both times, was sign up for a word of the day email. I did other vocab studying but the email ensured I did it daily. I wouldn't recommend an app unless you turn on notifications and use it every day. Your vocabulary just cannot be too large. I always read a lot but like most I don't stop to look up words I assume I know in context. Well during prep I looked them up and wrote them in my journal. If I found myself looking up the same word I already looked up before, I did whatever I could to really seal it in my mind. Know the derivation, play with images and sounds (I am truculent because that truck you lent me fell apart).
RC was always my problem because I feel it's like mind reading. I'm also not the fastest reader. I just practiced, practiced, practiced. Retake tests you took before because you should get 100 and if you don't, you didn't learn that, so drum it into your head.

Hi All ,
First of all many thanks to the forum specially Carcass whom I reached out many times and bothered him with so many queries!
This is bit embarrasaing as all my programs require score upwards of 328 or so because of me being in an overrepresented pool. I could manage only 322 with Q165 and V157.
I had VQVQV and I have absoltrly no idea which one was experimental section for me.
Unfortunately this is a bad experience I had with ProctorU , I partly blame myself and partly proctorU because my exam crashed not once or twice but 6 times exactly! If there was some issue ProctorU should have corrected well in advance and even if I blame me for my internet speed well I passed the speed test so don't know what is exactly wrong with that. So bad I couldn't even send scores to my choice of scores. Everytime my browser crashed I had to restart the broswer from desktop and proctor had to enter credentials again , this was super annoying because imagine you have read half of the RC but then proctor takes like 5 minutes to restart your exam and you are not just out of your mind but also panicking out because it's happening again and again and again!
As for verbal , I am sorry but I don't think that the Gregmat verbal list suffice neither does
magoosh , I saw a lot of words that i never saw , clearly a comprehnsive vocab is a sisphyian task but Greg and
Magoosh try their best. I fell in love with Gregmat when I got to know Pairing stratergy but in all likelyhood you are bound to face 3-4/8 questions in which words won't be synonyms (atleast that was the case with my section so gotta work more on vocab I guess)
Some motivation if you are falling apart :
PP2 : Q162 V152 314
PPP1 : Q165 V153 318
Real GRE : Q165 V157 322 (despite the hiccups and being able to not pee! )
I will go for a new attempt but I don't know where I will be now in one month in which country so not sure when and how to schedule the exam since I hear GRE@home was only till September?
Any tips for me to jump Q165 to Q170?
