RHS won't cause anything if one knows weighted avg.

May someone explain it by the concept of weighted avg. ?

Dataset A consists of 5 numbers, which have an average (arithmetic mean) value of 43. Dataset B consists of 5 numbers.

Quantity A
Quantity B
The value of x if the average of x and the 5 numbers in dataset A is 46.
The average of dataset B if the average of the 10 numbers in datasets A and B combined is 52.

A) Quantity A is greater.
B) Quantity B is greater.
C) The two quantities are equal.
D) The relationship cannot be determined from the information given.

Dataset A consists of 5 numbers, which have an average (arithmetic mean) value of 43.
(sum of all 5 numbers in set A)/5 = 43
Multiply both sides by 5 to get: sum of all 5 numbers in set A = 215

QUANTITY A: The value of x if the average of x and the 5 numbers in dataset A is 46
(215 + x)/6 = 46
Multiply both sides by 6 to get: 215 + x = 276
Solve: x = 61

The average of the 10 numbers in datasets A and B combined is 52.
(sum of all 10 numbers)/10 = 52
Multiply both sides by 10 to get: sum of all 10 numbers = 520
In other words: (sum of the 5 numbers in set A) + (sum of the 5 numbers in set B)= 520
We get: 215 + (sum of the 5 numbers in set B)= 520
Subtract 215 from both sides to get: sum of the 5 numbers in set B = 305
AVERAGE of the 5 numbers in set B = 305/5 = 61

We have:
QUANTITY A: 61
QUANTITY b: 61

Answer: C

Quantity A :
(43*5) + x = 46*6
x = 61
Qa => 61

Quantity B :
520 - 215 = 305/5 = 61
Qb =>61

Hence C.

For A,

(x + 43*5) / 6 = 46
=> x = 61

For B,

(Sum of Dataset A values + Sum of Dataset B values ) / 10 = 52
=> 43*5 + Sum of Dataset B values = 520
=> Sum of Dataset B values = 305
=> Average value of Dataset B = 305/5 = 61
