Re: a, b, and c are positive even integers such that 8 > a > b > [#permalink]
if you take 8>4>2>1
then the quantity A will be big.
SO the answer should be D i think so.

a, b, and c are positive even integers such that 8 > a > b > [#permalink]
The only way the condition - a, b, and c are positive even integers such that 8 > a > b > c - will be satisfied is when a,b and c are 6,4 and 2 respectively.

Quantity A: The range of a,b and c. The range is given by highest-lowest. Therefore, \(\text{ Range } =\) \(6-2 = 4\).

Quantity B: The arithmetic mean of a,b and c. \(\text{ Arithmetic Mean } =\frac{6+4+2}{3}=\frac{12}{3} =4\).

Therefore, BOTH quantities are EQUAL.

The answer is C.
