If you square both sides, the result is

p\q=2

Hi Carcass, in this case, then we could multiply to get p=2q ? then answer will be C then? Could you help clarify? Thanks

No because this is ONE of the most common error a student makes

we do not know anything about p and 2q they could be either positive or negative and when you square both they are always positive

Be always suspicious when you deal with numbers squared to even exponents

Noted thanks Carcass
Then we should note (p/q)=+-2 after squaring of both sides then rather just as (p/q)==2.
