The easiest way to this sum is by using LCM. The number of hours used by Navid, eric, Janey, and steven is 2, 3, 4 and 12 hours resp. Thus, the LCM is 12, dividing 12 by no. of hours taken by each of them to complete the work ie. 12/2; 12/3; 12/4; 12/12 which gives us the number of units each individual can do in one hour which is 6, 4, 3, and 1.
Case A: Navid+Steven= 6+1= 7 units. Thus, to do 12 units will take 12/7 hours
Case B: Eric+Janey= 3+4=7 units. Thus, to do 12 units it will take 12/7 hours
Hence A=B.
