We can solve this question using matching operations (see the video lesson below )
Given:
Quantity A: \(a+b\)
Quantity B: \( a-b\)
Add \(b\) to both quantities:
Quantity A: \(a+2b\)
Quantity B: \( a\)
Subtract \(a\) from both quantities:
Quantity A: \(2b\)
Quantity B: \(0\)
Since it's given that \(b\) is negative, we can conclude that \(2b\) is negative, which means Quantity B is greater.
Answer: B
