x = -y is the same as y = -x
From here, you can graph the line and the point. Since point P or (-7,8) is above the line, you know that Q has to be below the y = -x line since x = -y is a perpendicular bisector to line PQ. Since you know the slope to x = -y is -1, the slope for the perpendicular line has to be 1.
Going back to the previous point, point P is above the x = -y line, so point Q has to be below the line. If you take a slope of 1 to the left of point P, Point Q is P(-8, 7). From this you know the x coordinate is less than the y-coordinate resulting in Choice B to be the answer.
From here, you can graph the line and the point. Since point P or (-7,8) is above the line, you know that Q has to be below the y = -x line since x = -y is a perpendicular bisector to line PQ. Since you know the slope to x = -y is -1, the slope for the perpendicular line has to be 1.
