Let y be the number of patrons of Club A.
Let x be the number of patrons of Club B.
From the text, we can deduce that y/4=2x/5
Meaning that y=8x/5
Since QA is y, we replace it with 8x/5
subtract the x they have in common and it becomes:
QA: 3x/5 QB: 0
Although the GRE would specify that there is at least 1 patron in each club, I believe here it is implied - meaning that the answer is A.
However, the proper answer is D - since it could be the case that no one frequents Club A or B.
This is a valid case because everything in the stem holds true:
If 0 people frequented club A, and 0 people frequented club B, 25% of 0 is 0, and 40% of 0 is 0.
