Dear Sandy,

I got the answer right however I dont understand why have you used - sign? Will be thankful if you can elaborate a bit.

My apologies the question was typed in wrong. Fixed it

Please note that \(\sqrt{xx}\) sign always means positive root.

Explanation

In Quantity A, evaluate the root first, then attach the minus sign: \(-\sqrt{9}=-3\) ; this is equivalent to Quantity B: \(\sqrt[3]{-27}=-3\). Thus, the answer is choice (C).

I think answer has to be D; because √9 can be either +3 or -3,
Qa
-√9
-(+3 or -3)
-3 or +3
please correct me if Iam wrong?

Hi there!

A value written in a square root is always positive. Thus, in the above case √9= 3
And thus, Qty A : -3
Qty B: -3

Qty A= Qty B

Hope this helps!
